Throughout it’s history, San Francisco has been in a constant state of change. There have been booms and busts and there are no signs that this cycle will change. This web site seeks to preserve the memories of the places – restaurants, bakeries, bars, clubs, etc. – that have closed down and we’re no longer able to visit. Many of us are already starting to forget the places that we used to go to 10, 15, 20 years ago.
It will also highlight the places that we’re still able to enjoy today and how they’ve changed over the years.
About Remember SF
Remember SF is a new side project that started as a nostalgic conversation on Threads about San Francisco restaurants that are no longer around. This led to another conversation about restaurants that have been around a long time and are still open. And then I created a map to show where all those closed places were.
For now, this web site is a place to capture the various lists that have come out of those conversations on Threads. I hope to expand it in the future with a lot more information about these places that we remember.
If you have any feedback / suggestions or would like to collaborate with me on this in some way, please reach out to me on Threads.
